Coko Beach has plenty of experience for a nine-year-old having had thirty-three races since moving from France to Gordon Elliott in December 2018. This son of Cokoriko has been a great money spinner for connections having won three big handicaps all worth around 50k. Elliott made the move to try this horse over Cross Country fences in February and the gelding took to that discipline immediately, running out a ready six-length winner at Punchestown. Coko Beach had had three tries over the National fences, finishing eighth to Noble Yeats two years ago after leading from much of the final circuit. Then last year he was up with the leaders for much of the race again until pulling up before three out. Elliott decided to try the gelding in the Becher Chase in December and he ran a fine race, finishing second to Chambard. His experience over the National fences and his consistency will make him attractive to some punters but he now looks handicapped up to the hilt being eleven pound higher than two years ago and six pounds higher than when pulled up last year.
