>25 of the last 31 winners carried under 11 stone
>The last mare to win was Nickel Coin in 1951
>Four Lady jockeys have completed the course. The first was Geraldine Rees in 1982 aboard Cheers. More recently Carrie Ford was fifth on Forest Gunner(2005) and Nina Carberry 9th on Forest Gunner as well (2006). Rosemary Henderson was 5th on Fiddlers Pike(1994)
>Irish trained horses have won 6 of the last 11 runnings
>There have been 6 winners who have started at odds under 10/1 since 1978
>Since 1969 the winner has been 16/1 or under on 30 occasions
>There have been five winning favourites in the last 31 races.
>There have been five winners at 100/1 and that is the biggest odds of a winner in the history of the race. As well as 2009 winner Mon mome, the others were Tipperary Tim (1928), Gregalach (1929), Caughoo (1947), Foinavon (1967). It can be argued that
