The sweepstake kit shows the 40 runners and reserves. We suggest you include the reserves in your sweepstake, just in case one runs, as you want someone to have the winner! If the reserves dont run then thats tough luck on who picked them unfortunately.

If you are starting your sweepstake after 9am on Friday 9th April then you can leave out the reserves (if they havent replaced any withdrawn horses of course)

How to run a Grand National Sweepstake

Download and print out the Grand National Sweepstake, then cut the horse names individually, fold them up so nobody can read the names!

Either play for fun or agree an entry amount per person. Normally this is £1 to £5 per horse and depending on how many people you have who want to enter you may decide that people can have several horses each.

Some office sweepstakes allow one entry per person and if a horse wins which isnt picked, the pot goes to charity. OR the owner of the ticket with the highest place finish gets the first prize.

Ask everyone in turn to pay their fee and then draw their sweepstake horse.

Make sure you write down who draws each horse.

You can decide how you wish to split the winnings but its normal to break it down something like

1st = 60%, 2nd = 25%, 3rd = 10% and 4th = 5%
