Silver By Nature Odds and Grand National Form
Trained by Lucinda Russell who has partner Peter Scudamore at her yard so there will be plenty of background knowledge about the Grand National.
Silver By Nature has so far won four of his fourteen races over fences and his level of form has increased steadily over the last eighteen months. Silver By Nature appeared to relish the extra distance in the 2010 Welsh National and but for a mistake at the last fence may well of overhauled Dream Alliance but found the winner 3/4 of a length too strong in the end.
Followed that run with an emphatic fifteen length win in the Grand National trial at Haydock and he has won that race once more in 2011, again by fifteen lengths.
Connections previous concerns about this horse's ability to go on good ground were put to one side for the Grand National 2011 and the son of Silver Patriach was particualrly well backed (he went off at just 9/1) but didn't appear to handle conditions when finishing in a remote twelfth place.
If the ground were to come up soft at Aintree in 2012 we may see a different horse but it may well be that connections will choose not to focus on a Grand National campaign again.
