Has so far won two of his ten races over fences - the last win coming in a stamina laden test over 3m 2f at Carlisle in very soft ground. He was raised thirteen pounds by the handicapper for that win but this did not deter Mrs Russell from entering him in the Welsh National. Silver By Nature appeared to relish the extra distance at Chepstow and but for a mistake at the last fence may well of overhauled Dream Alliance but found the winner 3/4 of a length too strong in the end.
If the ground were to come up soft at Aintree he would appear to have a decent chance but three incompletions in a five run period in 2009 may just call into question the soundness of his jumping for a severe test such as Aintree. Also, connections have voiced concerns over the horse running on a sound surface so his participation looks very much linked to the weather.
