Chelsea Harbour Odds and Grand National Form
Ran a great race in the 2008 National leading from after the 2nd Canal Turn until after the fourth last fence and the fact he weakened to finish 9th seemed a bit of a surprise given his previous apparent stamina. The fastish ground could have been against him but it is interesting that his jockey Davy Russell stated afterwards that he might have made a bit too much use of him. The manner of the horse's three previous wins over fences have seen him take up the running with two fences to go so perhaps he was in front too early?
Was saddled with ten pounds more weight last year and only got as far as the third fence. This was the seventh time in his career that he has failed to negotiate the fences in a race and his jumping must always be a worry.
Since last year's National decent form has been pretty thin on the ground for this horse and it may just be he will need to come down in the weights to be competitive again.
Was withdrawn lame recently so it remains to be seen if he will make it to Aintree.
