Calgary Bay Odds and Grand National Form 2013
Despite winning the SkyBet Chase in 2009 there has to be some considerable doubt about Calgary Bay's stamina with regards to the four and a half miles of the Grand National.
Calgary Bay has won at three miles but any ventures over 24f have not gone well and it could be that three miles is this horse's maximum distance.
Henrietta Knight's charge has been in good form though in 11/12 running well in the big December handicap at Cheltenham and then taking two competitive and lucrative handicaps at Cheltenham and Doncaster.
Any doubts about Calgary Bay staying the Grand National trip will have to wait to be answered as he only made it as far as the fourth fence at Aintree last season. Connections skipped Cheltenham this year and head straight for the 2012 Grand National.
