Walk In The Mill Odds and Grand National Form 2020

21:35, 5 Dec 2019 Updated 21:39, 5 Dec 2019
Last season’s Becher Chase winner ran an excellent race to finish fourth to Tiger Roll in the National itself and must surely be one of the top contenders for Aintree 2020. Trainer Robert Walford bought the horse cheaply in France for former Gold Cup winning rider Dido Harding and their faith has been well rewarded with a series of good runs over fences and hurdles. Walk In The Mill is well suited to soft ground with all but one of his wins coming on that surface. This may be because the horse is prone to bruising his feet so going with some give looks to be an essential requirement for this nine-year-old. If Walk In The Mill makes it to Aintree, he is sure to be well prepared by the perhaps under-rated Walford who is likely to lay out a low-profile season for his horse in the lead up to the publication of the National weights. If the ground was to come up soft at Aintree Walk In The Mill would appear to have an excellent chance of improving on last season’s placed finish.
