Sun Alliance Chase Form
The Sun Alliance Chase is run at Cheltenham in March over 3 miles. This race is often run on good ground but still provides a very strong test of stamina for Novices.
The Sun Alliance Chase has been won by some great horses over the years and Spanish Steps, Garrison Savannah and Miinnehoma have managed to record victories in this race and gone on to run exceptionally well at a later stage in their careers in the Grand National.

2010 Grand National Tips from the Sun Alliance Chase
The key point here is that the Sun Alliance Chase put a huge emphasis on stamina on a young horse and if they can cope with it at that stage of their career then they may well be able to cope with the extra demands of Aintree as they gain more experience.
At this stage there is only one horse who hasn't previously run in a National with Sun Alliance form who might be interesting if given his chance -
Denman
Denman was the ten length winner of the 2007 Sun Alliance Chase from future Grand National placed
Snowy Morning but the Paul Nicholls trained gelding went on to bigger and better things including taking the 2008 Gold CUp.
Winning a Sun Alliance Chase at such an early stage in your career does emphasise underlying stamina and if Denmans connections did allow him to take his chance he would be unlikely to fail on grounds of stamina.
