Roulez Cool Odds and Grand National Form
Home-bred youngster from the powerful owner/trainer yard of Robert Waley-Cohen.
Roulez Cool started his racing career with ten races in France, winning one at Auteuil in April 2007. After that he returned home to Waley-Cohen and had three runs in the UK including an apparent 33/1 surprise win in a handicap chase at Bangor where he was a very easy winner. The handicapper took note of that performance and put the horse up from 130 to 142 but he still managed to finish a close second in a very competitive handicap at Uttoxeter with the likes of Pretty Star, Pablo Du Charmil and Exmoor Ranger all behind him that day.
This season his trainer has decided to focus him at the Cheltenham Foxhunters and he has been successful in two point to points and is likely to be at the head of the market for that race once the runners are known.
An entry in the Grand National look ambitious on the face of it, especially for such a young horse with little experience of British fences but it could be that this is a very classy performer who could be someway ahead of the handicapper's current rating and the Grand National could be the ultimate way of exploiting this.
