Hello Bud Odds & Grand National Form
Ended the 2008 season with three wins out of four for David Wintle but moved on to Nigel Twiston-Davies for 08/09 who amazingly managed to improve the horse a further 30lb.
Hello Bud won an ordinary handicap chase on his debut for the Twiston-Davies yard off a mark of 111. After a further three wins that season culminated in a tremendous all the way victory in the Scottish National.
Stamina for Aintree seems assured with victories recorded already over 31f, 32f and 33f he will surely have the most proven stamina in the race if he does make it to Aintree in 2010. He also seems versatile in terms of ground with wins coming on ground ranging from Good to Firm to Heavy.
Hello Bud is a very interesting candidate for the Grand National, although it is quite a few years since a Scottish National winner was successful at Aintree with only two horses having done this double in the last twenty-five years (Little Polveir and Earth Summit). Both of these horses did not achieve the double in consecutive seasons and Hello Bud faces a massive task in trying to go on and win at Aintree in 2010.
However, it would be a huge achievement if Hello Bud could continue to improve enough to be competitive in the Aintree Grand National and his progress should be monitored closely.
