Gwanako Odds and Grand National Form
Started the 07/08 season by winning a 2m Hcap Hurdle at Chepstow so its slightly surprising to see him quoted so highly in the betting for the 2009 Grand National. However in the interim he was placed at the Cheltenham Festival and was a game winner of the Topham Chase over the National fences and all that with only four starts over the bigger obstacles. Very young for a race of this nature and it remains to be seen how he will get on when asked to step up to such long distances but comes from a powerful team who will undoubtedly get the best out of him. Came back to Aintree in November 08 for the Grand Sefton but didn't get past the Chair (3rd fence) and appeared to refuse at that fence. Reasserted his claims with a gutsy win at Ascot in December and he is a progressive young horse who could go well if allowed to take part.
