Denman Odds and Grand National Form
2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner who has appeared in the early season betting for the Grand National since 2009 but, as yet, has not lined up at Aintree.
Things haven't totally gone to plan since that victory in the 2008 Gold Cup with only one further win on Denman's CV, the 2009 Hennessy Gold Cup.
A heart problem had surfaced after his Gold Cup win and some doubted if he would ever return to his best but that victory at Newbury and two runner-up spots in the 2009 and 2010 Gold Cups suggest that Denman is as good as ever.
Connections have reiterated their intention to run in the Grand National in 2011 despite the prospect of their horse having to give a huge amount of weight away to most of the field. Denman is currently rated at 182 and when you compare that to 2010 Grand National winner Don't Push It on 164 you have some idea of the huge task Paul Nicholls' chaser will face if he does line up at Aintree.
