Carruthers Odds and Grand National Form
Grade Two winner over hurdles but jumping fences was always going to be his forte and so it has proved.
Carruthers won twice as a novice chaser, including the Reynoldstwon Chase at Ascot before finishing fourth to Cooldine in the 2009 RSA Chase.
The 09/10 season returned just one win at Newbury but he did record a gallant fourth place in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham and a runner-up spot in the Totesport Bowl at Aintree.
Given that the horse is owned in partnership by Lord Oaksey, a trip back to Aintree and the Grand National must be a distinct possibility, although with a handicap mark of 155 he wouldn't find many ahead of him in the handicap if he does take his chance.
