According To Pete Odds and Grand National Form 2013
The handicapper looked to have According To Pete's measure at the start of this season when he was well beaten in two average handicaps. The eleven-year-old obviously had other ideas though and proceeded to take his next two races, the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby and the Peter Marsh at Haydock and won over fifty thousand pounds in the process for his connections.
According To Pete has won on good and good to soft ground but it may be that he is at his best on really soft ground and as such is probably not going to find conditions at Aintree to suit.
His supporters will have every reason to be hopeful though as he seems to be in the form of his life and has proven stamina at up to thirty furlongs.
According To Pete is a tough handicapper but there is just a worry that the hustle and bustle of the National will find everything happening just a bit too quick for him.
